Sun City, AZ- January 12, 2010 — According to the Financial Planning Association, surveys show that non-financial leave-behinds are 10 times more important than their parent’s financial legacy.  In what might be considered the most powerful gift you can give your family and friends, Jeffrey Schawelson,  a local businessman, has brought to Arizona a unique service called Your Love Remembered, that gives individuals the opportunity to create a Legacy Video; one that will be cherished by their loved ones for generations to come.  In the video, the client directly addresses their loved ones in a focused conversation sharing their beliefs, wishes and love for them. Your Love Remembered videos are delivered in a keepsake box and may be viewed at funeral services, memorial services, family gatherings, special milestones and when the family misses them. The final video even includes a photo montage.

When asked why he created this service, Mr. Schawelson responded “The idea for Your Love Remembered came about after some tragic losses in our own family.  In one instance, my sister-in-law spent 6 weeks in hospice. She was planning on writing a journal for her family and two young daughters in her last few months, but as she succumbed to the disease, the time and opportunity never came. At her funeral, we had a lovely photo montage, but her children, husband, family and friends never had a chance to hear her express her love and thoughts to them. That opportunity is gone forever.  Can you imagine how powerful it is to leave part of yourself telling your loved ones what they need to hear from you after you are gone?  Your children will one day show their children who it was that shaped their values. ”

Using his 20 years of experience in video production, and his major of communications, theatre and education, Mr. Schawelson has created a process for working directly with the client to help formulate a presentation, where from the comfort of their home or other location, the client talks about values and history they learned from their parents, the lessons that they learned in life, and personal directed messages to their loved ones giving hopes, wishes, and closure for after they pass. Each step of the process is carefully laid out so that by the time the client is on camera, they will know exactly what they want to say and be able to comfortably share their essence.  In the videos, clients share stories that might have been lost forever, they can resolve conflicts by giving or asking for forgiveness, they can tell their favorite anecdote, and say what they need to say to help give closure after they pass.

Your Love Remembered clientele includes parents, grandparents, spouses, partners and children.  They also work closely with those who experience sickness & those near end of life, military and high risk professions.  According to Mr. Schawelson, the client will focus on the following questions:

“If you were to die tomorrow, what would you want people to remember about you? Which of your values do you hope to pass on to your children and grandchildren?” Mr. Schawelson adds  “Both the client and family will benefit because Your Love Remembered Legacy Videos creates a celebration of life to bring closure so loved ones can move ahead more comfortably with living.  The response we have received from senior centers, hospices, and folks whom have learned about this service has been inspiring and most people feel that this would personally benefit them as part of their estate planning. This is an affordable service that many people never knew existed, combining the art of sharing their personal legacies with 21st century technology. ”
