Nearly 500 attendees recently enjoyed Freedom Plaza Retirement Community’s “A New Year…A New Beginning Open House.”

The Freedom Plaza Retirement Community treated residents and guests to a generous array of hot hors d’oeuvres, shrimp cocktail chilled by a seashell ice sculpture, and delicious desserts. Sweet harp music by Karin Gunderson spiraled around the main lobby’s grand staircase in perfect harmony with the tasteful affair.

Freedom Plaza residents invited visitors to enjoy an inside look at the five apartment homes on the open house tour. Residents shared their first-hand experiences of living in one of the 347 entry-fee independent living apartments that include healthcare and life care benefits.

Resident hosts spoke highly of the beautiful residential setting, fitness center, recreational programs, and the friendly, inviting atmosphere.

Susan Palmer, a six-year resident of Freedom Plaza, hosted tours of a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment and raved about the retirement community’s social activities. She said, “There’s bridge, pinnacle, canasta, a discussion group, formal dance once a month, movies a couple of times a month and more.”

While giving a tour of a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment, Freedom Plaza resident Audrey Cornell said, “So many people think I’m too young to live here, but you want to move-in while you’re young and can enjoy it.”

To schedule a tour of the premiere lifecare community, contact the marketing department at 623-876-2416. The Freedom Plaza Retirement Campus is located at 13373 Plaza del Rio Boulevard in Peoria.
