Residents and staff of The Forum at Desert Harbor, a Five Star Senior Living community, celebrated the resort-style retirement community’s 20th anniversary at the gala event, “Desert Harbor Reflections: 20 Years of Memories at The Forum.”
Partygoers delighted in reminiscing about many memorable moments as they mingled to the sweet sounds of harp music by Jill Pack.
The waterfront retirement community showcased a sailboat ice sculpture overflowing with shrimp and crab legs as the centerpiece in the rotunda.
Sous chef Chuck Baxter said, “The Lakeside Dining Room served an assortment of hot hors d’oeuvres including skewered chicken, char siu pork ribs, lamb lollipops, sweet and sour shrimp, and beef tenderloin sliders.”
Residents at the snazzy affair were also treated to the jazzy music of The Johnny Michaels Band. The jazz quintet hit a high note as their swinging music played from the balcony to the residents dancing the night away in the rotunda.
“They’re terrific,” Cecile Schuman said as she applauded a “S’Wonderful” song by The Johnny Michaels Band. “Takes you back 20 years.”
In celebration of two decades of quality senior services, the main lobby and independent living common areas recently received state-of-the-art renovations.
“New outdoor patio furniture invites residents to enjoy the lush landscaping that surrounds our beautiful lakefront community,” executive director Maria Parham said. “The elegant interior upgrades and gorgeous décor greatly enhance the many amenities.”

The independent private residences, assisted living apartments, and on-site healthcare center make life easier for residents year-round.
