Souter's retirement is another BIG win for the liberals.  Love love love it!  I'm thinking Souter waited for the right time and the right president.  Smart guy!  Thank you, Justice Souter.  Can't wait to hear who else is retiring on the Sup Court.

luci, we had hoped during your hiatus that you were gathering some current and relevant material, but guess not.  When you continue to rake over old news items it becomes increasingly clear you don't have anything to add to the conversation other than the old attack President Bush and republicans junk.  That's too bad because you used to be better than that, what's happened to you??:?

See Raz, I told you, all the articulate, intelligent posters have put you on "ignore".

Guess that leaves you out of the "articulate and intelligent" category since you responded.  :D:cool:

I've never considered myself to be a political expert.  And, I've always said no one reads your posts.  I only read the ones that show your frustration and anger when someone doesn't take your bait.   I'll give it about one sentence and if I read psycho fear I continue, because it makes me laugh out loud. :D   If I read radical right wing, wanted by the department of homeland security, I copy it and e-mail it to the scgrandgals. :D

I would say AMEN to that one humdwig, actually, it would be safe to say you aren't an expert in just about anything.  But have to ask you the obvious question here, if "you only read the ones that show my frustration and anger" then how do you know which ones those are if you aren't reading them???   So, now we know you do read them and hang on every word and even take them to your grand gal pals .....and you don't think there is something just a teeny little bit psycho about that???  Are you giggling right now?? :shock::shock:  May I suggest that you don't read my posts, I would consider that a favor, a really big, big favor.

Couple that with your complete nervous meltdown with MrsF, the goofy threats of teaching me a lesson -- BTW, when is that going to take place, I want to be sure to be present and your admission that you are neither informed, articulate or intelligent, it would appear you just about covered all your issues tonight, not much left to say, you've said a mouthful for sure.;)

It's really a word in the dictionary.  Trust me.  Sound it out.  Take it slow.  I promise.  Practice makes perfect.  :D

Admittedly, I have not watched as much of the RNC as I did the DNC. But I have given an hour here and there out of my week to see what's been going on there. I watched Sarah Palin's speech, and I had every intention of watching John McCain.

But I lost all intention when they did that tribute/memorial to the victims of 9/11. Sorry, folks, that just downright pissed me off.

When are the Republicans going to stop using 9/11 as a call to arms? When are they going to quit using our deepest, most base fears to manipulate our emotions? I couldn't watch much beyond that point. I felt nauseated and angry.

What really pissed me off the most? The Republican party is using this attack on our country -- one that their President was warned about and could have prevented but chose to ignore -- to try to gain votes. Sorry, folks. 9/11 happened on your watch, it could have been prevented, but you turned your heads and let it happen.

The Republicans are trying to distance themselves from Bush because he did not bring about the "change" they had hoped for. I can't help but wonder, what change was that? Exactly what change are you looking for? Is it the change that your dominionist/evangelical base wants? You know, the one that is extremist and (I believe dangerous) that turns our country into a so-called Christian nation? Are you catering to the Christian-Taliban segments in your party to get your votes because if you do, they will have what they want and you can go on running our country into the ground? This is very dangerous for the life of our country and our people.

I don't believe a single, solitary one of the politicians who say they are religious and pray to God. It is lip service for most of them, but nothing more. Very few of them follow the teachings of the Christ, who was a wise teacher and taught of peace, fairness, caring for your brother and turning the other cheek. He taught us not to judge one another and forgiveness. It seems to me that the Republican base, the evangelicals, Zionists, and Dominionists are more interested in Old Testament law, the law that the Jewish and Muslim religions practice, the ones Christians supposedly despise.

We are walking on dangerously thin ice in this election with both parties going after the extremist vote on the right instead of the moderate vote where the majority of us dwell.

I give kudos to Keith Olbermann who, last night after the 9/11 memorial, was sickened and distanced himself from it as he could barely control his anger.

I think maybe you should buy yourself an air raid shelter, stock it and start living in it. Then you will feel safe from the outside world and everything in it.
I said to you way too many times that Bush played the 9-11 card and it took most people a few years to figure it out. But when they finally figured it out, Bush's 9-11 card was trash.
Maybe you didn't or wouldn't believe what was really going on at the time but most of the 9-11 card playing was so Bush's friends could make money and large sums of it because Bush had the people of this country so afraid of dying that they would do just about anything to be saved.

Nobody is not saying 9-11-01 didn't happen. Is it going to happen again very doubtful.

We don't have to talk about it every single day just like we don't have to talk about Revoltionary War, Civil War, Hitler, Korea or Vietnam every single day.
The only terrorists we as U.S. Citizens have to fear are the terrorists from within.

And it is sad that you live in so much fear.

No, the pure idiocy of trying to pretend 9-11 never happened is what made my blood pressure go up.  We need to talk about it every single day and because we have a sissy in the WH who believes because he:dude: is so 'cool' they would never hit us so he's single handedly destroying all of our defense mechanisms is nothing less than insanity.

The last thing our Country could withstand right now or in the next year or two is a devastating terror attack "overseas contingency operation" -- does anyone else think that is just about the most stupid thing our new government has done to date, not to call them what they are, terrorists??   The TERRORISTS only recognize strength not cowardice and in being weak on National Defense, Barack Hussein Obama is going to get us all killed.  That's a fact.

As of this moment we are no longer getting valued intel, the CIA have thrown in the towel.  And luci was worried about an ad showing 9-11??  The next attack will make it look like a walk in the park. :X:cool:

Oh that's right, how stupid of us.  9-11 was just a figment of our imagination, nothing to worry our little heads about.  How about saying that to a family member of a loved one who died on 9-11 and see how low they think you are?  This ad is just a wake up call to those caught sleeping who have the luvbugs in their ears and hearts in their eyes, a pre-9/11 mentality.

Boenher is just telling people to STOP swooning and get into reality and reality is we have Terrorists who still want to KILL US and wipe us along with Israel from the face of the Earth.  But the Cowardly Lion in the WH doesn't want us to be meanies to the terrorists or even call them terrorists and we should just hug and forgive them for all the 3,000 Americans they killed on 9-11 and wanted to kill more and still do.  He even wants to turn them loose in our Country.  What a man.

Scare tactic, you want to talk about SCARE TACTICS???  It's a crisis, it's a CATASTROPHE, we have to act quickly and BOLDLY in this CRISIS, we are heading for a DEPRESSION worse than 1929, we are in CRISIS mode emergency, CRISIS, CRISIS, CATASTROPHE....sound familiar??  Now those were SCARE tactics used to spend TRILLIONS of wasted taxpayer dollars so please spare us the "scare tactic" mantra.

But you want to know what is reaaallllyyy scawy??

In just 100 days Barack Hussein Obama has nearly wiped out the CIA.  Now that's SCARY.  In just 100 days BHO has apologized for AMERICA to all our enemies abroad, now that's SCARY.  In just 100 days BHO has hugged and bowed and scraped and groveled to some of the World's worst Dictators, now that's SCARY.  In just 100 days BHO has taken over our Financial and Insurance Institutions and our Auto Industry, now that's a CATASTROPHE for America....do I need to go on because I could fill the page and it's only been 100 days but feels like 100 months!!

BHO has great empathy for the terrorists and is placing us all in grave jeopardy.  They just outed two of the interrogators, had them on camera, gave their names and where they live.  Those two guys were blindsided and now their lives are in great danger.  They interrogated a lot of the detainees.  Doesn't that just make you so proud of this new administration??  Let's throw the guys under the bus and get them killed for keeping us safe for 7 years, yippeee, Barack Hussein Obama is not only reckless with our National Security he is also naive. YES HE IS.:X:cool:

Stooping again so low as to use 9/11 for political gain.  I am impressed that they even can come up with some whining response to defend the commercial.   The whole point of the commercial is lost on a scare tactic segment that any American would know better than to use.  Back to the drawing board Boehner and use the eraser to get the egg off your face.  What a disgrace.

Welcome back luci, I've actually missed you. Glad you brought this up. See, this is the deal on this one.  Souter was appointed by Bush 41 thinking for whatever reason that his views were similar to his.  But he got fooled and Souter turned out to be a liberal and is more so now than ever and he came right out and said he wanted to step down while there was a liberal in office, he knew he was retiring when Bush was in office.

The real issue the Republicans have with BHO appointing any Supreme Court Justice is the fact how he determines what qualifies them for the job.  It's not their judicial experience, it's not their pedigree, it's about them being able to adjudicate on FEELINGS rather than the letter of the law and Constitution.  In other words, a judical activist.

In a 2000 interview, Barack Hussein Obama clearly stated that if he were to ever become President he would choose justices on their ability to adjudicate by feelings and then went on to explain.  He believes our judges should take into consideration the ethnic background, economic background, educational background of the case and give them a break accordingly.  So if you have a 18 year old black guy who robbed a bank because he didn't have a job and on drugs, then according to BHO's thought process the Judge should go lightly on him.

So when cases come before the Supreme Court, he wants a judge in there who can 'feel' their pain if that happens to be the case so he is going to look for the most liberal, probably female and either black or Hispanic so that they can 'feel' the pain while making a decision.  He said all of that so there is no question what his motives will be in selecting a judge.  He believes the Constitution is not fair to people of color so since he can't change the Constitution, well he could but he won't be in office long enough to ever do that, then he will make judicial selections that will legislate from the bench, liberals do it all the time.

A great example of that is the 'gay marriage' issue.  It keeps coming back because you have liberal judges kicking it back even though the folks have spoken in the voting booth on many occasions.

In doing this, BHO is doing our Country a great disservice and will probably permanently damage our democracy in making such radical left choices but that is who he is even though nobody wants to admit it even though he admits it.   So if there are tears although I haven't heard anything close to that, it's because it's heart wrenching to see our Constitution be abused and ignored.  It's what has kept our Country great and when people start messing with it, we are in major trouble.  It's like trying to rewrite the Bible.  It's beyond irresponsible and naive ideology but that is how our new Prez will govern.:X:cool:
