I received a phone call today from the Town of Florence stating that they had nothing to do with the auto-dialer that directed callers to contact the Florence City Council.

Having said that, I stand by statements.  I have yet to find anyone who believes that the current incorporation law is just.  Although it is legal, it is not right.  There is never a time when it is okay for any group to take away the right to vote from another group.

I realize that my voice in the dark will have little influence upon the city councils.  However, I'm confident and hopeful that the various council members will determine that the right to vote outweighs their bottom line...because you can't have it both ways.

I ask that the citizens of Florence, Queen Creek and Gilbert contact their leaders and let them know it is okay to support the right to vote over the bottom line.

Rights are funny things.  You don't miss them until they are gone.

Respectfully,

Someone who has seen what no rights looks like...

There was an auto-dialer that went out this weekend.  It was very well done and interactive.  The questions were geared towards anti incorporation and anti Supervisor Bryan Martyn.  It concluded by encouraging citizens to contact the Florence City Council.

I don't mind the anti-Martyn piece.  I just want everyone to know, I will not be dissuaded.  I stand by my statement.  I will always put American ideals first.  Every American has the right to vote.  These municipalities are toying with the idea of taking away the rights of 80,000 fellow Americans for their own self interest as they hide behind a poorly written law.

These council members seem to have convinced themselves that their communities are more important than the American Ideal of "One man, one vote".  I don't care how you paint this, it is wrong for these councils to have control over another group of Americans.  I know they are within their legal right.  But that doesn't make it right.

It wouldn't matter if it were only one person asking for a vote.  I would go to the mat for them.  We just happen to be taking about 80,000...

Bryan

Supervisor Martyn, you had better have some proof to back up your accusations that the Florence Town Council participated in what ever this auto-dialer scare was.  If not I better see a public apology from you.

Supervisor Martyn, you have created a major problem for yourself and for the citizens of District Two.  You have led 80,000 of your constituents to believe that they have a right to a democratic process which they do not have. We do not live in a Democracy, we live in a Republic. We pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: Not the democracy.  A Republic is representative government (city councils and county supervisors) ruled by law (the Constitution). A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority (mob rule).  The framers gave us a Constitution that is replete with anti-majority rule, undemocratic mechanisms.  In their wisdom, the framers gave us laws so that large, heavily populated areas could not use their majority to run roughshod over small, sparsely populated areas. The rule of law for incorporating new cities includes a requirement of 100 % approval by the city councils within a six mile radius and approval of the county supervisors before it can go to the citizens. You have created a mob (mob rule) that doesn’t want to let the rule of law happen.  You have called that due process under the law “almost un American”. You have divided your district into two groups, those you will represent and those you will not.  I don’t know what your motivation is nor does it matter. At best, this region will be scarred for years.  Please go back to your job as a County Supervisor and let the citizens for incorporation committee (who are trying to do it right by the way) do their jobs.

Your auto-dialer has a right to remain silent.  City Councils and Utility Owners will be dealt with later.

Supervisor Martyn, What are you talking about?  Thank you for your service but really, an auto dialer?  The incorporated cities in your district, don't you represent us also?  Are our city councils your enemy?  Are you declaring war on a utility owner that owns a business in your district?  This has nothing to do with the democratic process.  We live in a republic.  What laws have the city councils broken?  If you don't like the laws then get the laws changed but please don't fire any nukes.

did you get an auto dial at your casa amigo or is it amiga? did you comprendo or was it in espanol por tu?
